The power of imagination makes us infinite

jan.17 is one of my favorite days.I FOLLOW BACK if I like your blog.overactive imagination. I constantly dream of having my own wedding someday. fictional characters make me happy. always satisfies. sometimes never. don't like showing emotions in public. that's what blogging is for. which reminds me, I love blogs that have to do with fashion.prefer vintage to brand new. always busy. things i don't like make me itch. literally. bookworm. musiclover. not skinny. but i like myself.sometimes I don't know what to say. appreciate the finer things in life. clean. tend to like something when i understand it more. sometimes i just don't know. i'm a personal writer. always something on my mind. never blank. a brand new canvas, waiting to be painted on. big dreams and hopes. I'm gonna get more than my intended fifteen minutes of fame. hate judging and picking sides. jealousy is a cruel thing. life's too short to be jealous, but it's long enough to have great moments in one lifetime. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the photos on my blog, unless stated otherwise.

So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. For those of you on Tumblr that are attacking Feminists for being delusional about sexism against women and misogyny here’s your fucking proof that sexism and misogyny exists.

Our celebrity obsessed culture may be a joke but breast cancer definitely isn’t - nearly 500,000 people die from it every year. Angelina Jolie’s doctors estimated she had an 87% risk of developing breast cancer and a 50% risk of developing ovarian cancer because she carries the common gene mutation that causes both. Her mother died at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer as well. My own mother had both breast and ovarian cancer within a couple short years and let me tell you, it’s about the least funny thing in the world to watch someone suffer from.

Valuing someone’s body parts you sexualized over their life and humanity goes beyond sexism, it’s sub-human.

Banana Lumpia with Caramel Sauce
Serves 10
INGREDIENTS
10 small bananas
20 fresh lumpia wrappers
1-2 cups oil for frying
1 cup coconut milk
¾ cup brown sugar
water
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour the coconut milk into a medium saucepan over low heat. Heat until bubbling slightly, about 5 minutes. Add the brown sugar and stir until smooth. Thicken the sauce to your desired consistency by keeping it at a low boil and stirring very frequently. I kept mine on the heat for almost 30 minutes. It thickens slightly as it cools, but you should be able to see it thickening in the pan as well.
Steam the lumpia wrappers for a few minutes to soften them and make them easier to pull apart. I just held mine over the top of the steaming sauce pan for a few minutes.
Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. Place the banana on the lumpia wrapper. If they are still too long to fit inside your lumpia wrappers, cut the ends off or cut them in half again. Dip your fingers in water and run them along the edge of the lumpia wrapper to make them easier to fold. Fold the top and bottom over the banana, and then roll it sideways, sealing the banana inside and using a little more water to make the wrapper stick together.
Heat the oil in a large skillet or frying pan over low heat. When water sizzles across the top, add the lumpia, a few at a time, and fry for 3-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Serve with the dipping sauce.
